A super lady

This is for Tasha, a very lovely lady who has made my little one dance for joy - Here are 2 photos for you to choose from. The first a Swarovski crystal cross necklace (will change the chain to silver tone) or a blue, brown and real Jade chunky necklace - I wasn't too sure of your taste....

Candy Floss

Did you know what a Baba Papa is? Silly me I had thought that it was a cartoon but not in France - in France it is the biggest sweetest Candy Floss that you have ever seen and in my folly i bought the kids some at the weekend - It will be all my fault when their teeth fall out in years to come. We are so lucky to live on the cusp of France as to pop over for the weekend only takes a couple of hours and really blows the cobwebs away - it went up to the nineties when we were there and an afternoon sitting under the hazelnut trees reading a book was just bliss. Now I bet you are saying what book - all about weddings - OMG you would think I would know better, weddings during the week and wedding books at the weekend- what folly is that. I used to only read murders but they have moved on from the Agatha Chrisie days and now seem so violent and cruel that I have had to change my reading material and tend to read what I can get. The book in questions was Wedding Season by Katy Fforde and for a bit of very light reading in the sun it was ideal. I even used it as a background to my latest design, Swarovski drops with FWP accents. Here are the said photos.

Wedding fever

You can tell that its that time of the year again and its a good job I love working with pearls, after my 2 or 3 favourite shades of Swarovski they are my next best thing to work with. The cubes are Swarovski too but have a really smooth finish and as you can see are very sparkly.
I have also ordered some new wires that I am desperate to start playing with but don't seem to have much time at the mo, hopefully Half Term will be a little less hectic. I was also sent some felting wools as part of my Easter swap on Misi that is tucked away on a top shelf out of the way of little fingers as it has felting needles with it - I really want to have a play with this as I have never tried it before and it looks great fun.

Here are some recent makes, all made to order.

Bride of Dracula bracelet

Now heres a funny thing, having a look at my stats - what on earth is a Bride of Dracula bracelet and even more interestingly why is this search string landing someone on my little site? The mind boggles. I am a lover of a good dracula movie but can't imaging what this bracelet should look like - answers on a postcard c/o Transylvania.
Anyway busy weekend so a bit late for my Misi picks (Wednesday is the new Saturday don't you know!) - Today I have concentrated on new sellers only.
They include some very interesting hand dyed yarn bangles, a lovely butterfly handmade card, a 12-24 month little Kimono outfit and cute icecream brooch - just click on the link.
Happy surfing

May Day

Well I missed May Day, don't know where that went (why do all my posts start with 'Well' - will have to think about that one!) I was in Austria many years ago for May Day with a bunch of fellow 20 somethings and remember the dancing around the MayPole and yet here we don't really take any notice. More importantly in Guernsey is May 9th, our Liberation Day - this is when the German Occupation of the Channel Islands ended, or at least most of it - Sark I think was May the 10th. Here it is a Bank Holiday and most people launch themselves down town and party the day away! Here is a link if you want to have a further read.

Anyway (Not 'way' you will note!) today I can't sleep, it is 5 something in the morning and I am about to complete a bracelet (sad me) The beeb is mumbling in the background and the house is rocketing with snores of sleepy children but I start a new job today, or is that an old one, and am a bit nervous.

Here are some photos of recent makes and work in progress - all bracelets (and none of them pink!). Its funny how things go in phases - last month all my orders were pretty much on the pink or purple side, so far this month not a hint anywhere!

Pink shoes and purple feet!

Lovely Bank Holiday weekend, managed a trip to Town with dd on Saturday, note to self 'don't go shopping with a dd obsessed with pink or you will come back with pink shoes!' They swear with my plum coloured nail varnish.

Here is what I am working on at present, no its not a necklace although I must admit at present that's what it looks like! It is my latest commissioned piece that is nearly finished so will post some photos of the completed design.

Misi picks:
Here are some of my fav Misi items, I have included again some pink pieces in tribute to my new shoes!!
'I want one of those' was what my dd said when she saw me adding this lovely recycled skirt by a fav of mine, Madame Salami

These cute little floral bootees are from My Sweet Little and with the gingham lining are so unusual.

This Green spiral necklace is from Talking beads, such a lovely colour....

Finally this soap from Future Primitave caught my eye, looks too good for soap-bet it smells wonderful
